We had a fantastic time connecting with Tampa's maritime and business community at the Propeller Club – Port of Tampa's Holiday Luncheon. Hosted at a beautiful venue on December 15th and sponsored by Kinder Morgan, it was a room full of port leaders, maritime professionals, and community stakeholders who care deeply about what the Port of Tampa means for the region.
A Special Connection
We want to specifically thank Richard with Stingray Maritime for the invitation to join him at the event. Stingray Maritime is a GCS partner company, and having that connection in Tampa has opened doors to conversations and relationships that are directly shaping how GCS thinks about its Florida expansion.
The Propeller Club brought together an impressive cross-section of Tampa Bay's maritime and civic leadership — exactly the kind of room that GCS needs to be in as we look toward establishing a meaningful presence on Florida's West Coast.
Connecting with Mayor Castor
One of the highlights of the afternoon was the opportunity to meet and connect with Mayor Jane Castor. Tampa is one of the Southeast's most dynamic port cities, and Mayor Castor's commitment to economic growth and the maritime industry was evident throughout the event. Building relationships at the civic level is part of how GCS establishes its presence in a new market — not just operationally, but as a community partner.
GCS in Florida
GCS's Florida expansion is underway, with Tampa, Jacksonville, and Port Manatee all on the radar. The Gulf Coast stevedoring expertise we've built across Lake Charles, Sabine Pass, Burnside, and Port Arthur translates directly to the break bulk and project cargo operations moving through Florida's ports — and the relationships we're building through events like this one are laying the groundwork for real operational presence.
Thank you to the Propeller Club for bringing together local leaders and industry professionals to celebrate our shared commitment to economic growth and community partnership. We look forward to being a part of Tampa Bay's maritime story.
